And rightly so – for many, this was their first title with the club. The same applied to their manager, Hansi Flick. It’s no surprise, then, that the euphoria was flowing.
With their medals around their necks, and Raphinha and Koundé holding their MOTM and Best Assist of the Match trophies respectively, the entire Barça squad, coaching staff, and travelling party celebrated this very special night pitch-side.
Even a recovering Ter Stegen, who had been entrusted with lifting the “Super Cup” trophy, was just as involved in the celebrations as the rest of the team. It’s highly likely he took on the role of guide for the younger members of the squad in their moment of joy.
