RFEF president Pedro Rocha expresses "support and solidarity" to his Moroccan counterpart

Rocha has sent an official letter to Fouzi Lekjaa following the earthquake that has devastated parts of Morocco.

The president of the RFEF, Pedro Rocha, has sent an official letter to his counterpart in the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FMRF), Fouzi Lekjaa, in which he expresses the "support and solidarity" of Spanish football after the earthquake which caused numerous deaths and destruction ñ last night in Morocco.

Pedro Rocha expresses in the letter the "deep sadness" with which the news of this disaster is received in Spain, and sends Fouzi Lekjaa a message of support in these terms: "From the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and in the name of Spanish football, you can count on all the collaboration you need in these difficult moments".

"Our special relationship makes us feel this disaster more deeply and with a profound sense of sadness," the letter continues.

Rocha also informs the president of the FMRF of the decision taken to start all official state-level football matches this weekend with a minute's silence "in solidarity with the victims of the tragedy"; and also informs him that, in agreement with LA LIGA, this tribute will be repeated in this weekend's Second Division matches and next weekend's First Division matches.
