Riazor awaits Spain’s last dance before the Games
The match against Belgium in La Coruña will not be just any old match for the World and Nations League champions. Spain will host Belgium at the Riazor Stadium in what will be their last match before travelling to France for the Olympic Games in Paris.
The players held their last training session on the pitch of the Riazor Stadium 24 hours before the start of the match. This Tuesday, at 19:00 (Spanish peninsular time) Spain will face Belgium in the sixth and final matchday of the qualifiers for next summer's European Championships in Switzerland, a tournament Spain qualified for as group winners on matchday four.
In the build-up to the match, the three internationals who have reached the magical milestone of 100 appearances for Spain will be honoured. Alexia Putellas (118), Jenni Hermoso (116) and Irene Paredes (107) will receive some well-deserved recognition in front of a Spanish fan base that will surely be cheering for them and the national team.
