Spanish national team players Rodrigo Hernández, Dani Carvajal, and Lamine Yamal have been named in the IFFHS Team of the Year, officially announced this Friday by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

This honour represents well-deserved recognition for three key players who contributed to Spain’s triumph in their fourth European Championships, held in Germany last summer.

Spain is the most represented country in the 2024 Team of the Year, with three players included.

Rodrigo Hernández rounds off a year full of individual accolades, including winning the Ballon d’Or and being named MVP of the European Championships. Dani Carvajal adds his inclusion in the Team of the Year to a trophy-laden year, capped by the Euros victory. At just 17 years old, Lamine Yamal has had a remarkable 2024, being named the best young player of the tournament in Germany and the season as a whole.

The IFFHS also recently honoured Luis de la Fuente as the Best National Team Coach of 2024, closing out a year of outstanding achievements and recognition for Spanish football.
