Spain to play the Netherlands in the Nations League semi-final

The outcome of this final four clashes will also decide who goes to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Spain will play the Netherlands for a place in the UEFA Women's Nations League final, where, if they qualify, they will face the winner of the other semi-final between France and Germany match for the title. The draw was held at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon on Monday. The side coached by Montse Tomé, present at the draw, will face the Dutch, and will also be fighting for the chance to play as the home team in the final match of the tournament.

Between 23 and 28 February, the Spanish national football team will be looking to put the finishing touches to one of their most successful periods, having been crowned World Champions in Australia and New Zealand. The draw had no seeded teams, so the first team drawn in each match will be the home team. Thus, Spain will play the semi-final at home, on the 23rd, and will host the final if they reach it. Should Montse Tomé's team lose that match, Spain will host the match for third place, which will be played on the 28th.

There will be two semi-finals, a final and a third place playoff that will be very important in deciding who will accompany France to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, for which the French team has already qualified as hosts. Two teams will qualify through the UEFA Women's Nations League. Should Spain win their semi-final, they would already be guaranteed a place at the Olympics. If they lose and France win their match against the Germans, Spain would still be able to secure their place at the Games if they win the third place playoff match.

Spain reached the final four after a remarkable group stage in which they won five games and lost just once, beating big-name opponents such as Sweden, Italy and Switzerland along the way. Spain finished with 23 goals scored and nine conceded in six matches. The two upcoming home matches in February , will hopefully be a chance to add to those already impressive numbers.
