The Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas today hosted the Ordinary General Assembly of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, which brings together all levels of Spanish football and which approved the annual accounts for the 2023 financial year with the backing of 95 per cent of the assembly members (with only four abstentions in the vote).

The income recorded this year, with 363 million, confirms the good health of the governing body of Spanish football, which has allocated a large part of this figure (93.9 million) to all types of aid to non-professional football, both those distributed directly to clubs of the different categories and types of football, as well as to the territorial federations.

The most significant income streams include income from audiovisual rights (115.4 million), income from sponsorship (76.2 million) and income from the participation of national teams and the organisation of various competitions (38.9 million). In total, the RFEF has a surplus of 8.8 million euros, after deducting the expenses and extraordinary allocations for provisions, as well as extraordinary amortisations that have been made this year.

The Assembly also approved a 50 percent reduction in the chairman's salary, as proposed by the chairman. This measure is a commitment in line with the return to an ethos of moderation in all areas of the RFEF in recent months and was unanimously endorsed by the assembly members present.

Likewise, the competitions calendar for the new season was ratified and the process for drawing up the Bid Book with which the Moroccan, Portuguese and Spanish hope to host the 2030 World Cup was reported.

The Assembly brought together at the federation's headquarters representatives from all levels of Spanish football. The EURO 2024 trophy, recently won by the Spanish national football team, presided over the meeting in the Luis Aragonés Hall. In addition, and next to it, the trophies of the men's and women's Nations League, and the trophies of the women's U-17, won a few months ago, and the men's and women's U-19 won this weekend, were also on display.
