Following their 2–4 victory over Portugal in the first of two consecutive fixtures against the Portuguese side, Spain now sit second in Group A3, having overtaken Portugal thanks to the three points earned at the Capital do Móvel.
Spain claimed the win over Francisco Neto’s side with goals from Patri Guijarro, Laia Aleixandri, Claudia Pina, and Esther González.
Meanwhile, in the other match in the group, England defeated Belgium 5–0, moving into first place, now just one point ahead of Spain. England’s goals came from Bronze, Bright, Beever-Jones, Park, and Walsh.
