The RFEF President Completes a Busy Schedule of Activities During Super Cup Week
Rafael Louzán presented the trophy to the winning team, rounding off a week of meetings aimed at launching a series of future initiatives
In his first Spanish Super Cup as RFEF president, Rafael Louzán took full advantage of his stay in Jeddah to carry out a series of activities focused on listening to opinions, improving working conductions, and opening avenues of cooperation with various football stakeholders, in addition to his institutional representation duties.
Pioneering initiatives included a meeting with representatives of grassroots football who were able to travel to Saudi Arabia, as well as a gathering with Spanish coaches working in the region. These were complemented by the usual meetings with participating teams and the official reception for the two finalists.
Saudi authorities, represented by Deputy Minister of Sports Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Qadi and the Secretary General of the Saudi Federation, Ibrahim Alkassim, also held a meeting with the RFEF president in Jeddah. Discussions included the development of the Super Cup tournament, women’s football, the creation of sports camps, and training exchanges for referees and coaches.
Louzán highlighted that Spain will host the 2030 World Cup alongside Morocco and Portugal, while Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 edition. These meetings have laid the groundwork for collaboration ahead of the challenges posed by hosting these global showpiece tournaments.
Barcelona’s victory in Sunday’s final at the Al Jawhara Stadium brought a successful edition of the Supercopa to a close, uniting the footballing community in Jeddah.
