How the draw went

The event began with a respectful minute's silence in memory of the victims of the storms that affected a large part of the peninsula, especially the Valencian Region and the provinces of Albacete and Cuenca. The draw had a very special significance for all the victims and employed the four people picking the teams out of the pots related to the world of football affected by the tragedy. A heartfelt tribute from the world of football to the victims and to the people who will make the reconstruction possible and who work every day at grassroots level for the sport we love.

Domingo Rodríguez, coach and coordinator of Juventud Chiva; Bernardo José Dolz, treasurer of Algemesí CF; Javier Giner, referee of the Lliga Valenciana and Eric Toledo, player of Unió Benetússer Favara CF, received widespreads tributes from everyone at a an emotional event in which Vicente Rodríguez, ex-Valencia player and Cup winner, also participated, representing the only team from the Valencian Community and he presented a gift to the four stars.

As usual, the draw was broadcast live to some of the more expectant lower division teams who awaited their second round opponents with great enthusiasm, that special moment of finding out the First Division club that they will receive in their stadiums was what it was all about. This was the case for four of the teams representing the Segunda Federación: CP Cacereño, Salamanca CF UDS, UD Barbastro and Orihuela CF.
