This Thursday marks the start of our great European dream
Every dream has a first day, a first firm step that begins the journey towards a massive goal. The Spain squad have the ambition of winning their first European Championships, and if anyone can be trusted to make dreams come true, it is the reigning World Cup and UEFA Nations League Champions.
This Thursday, 19 June 2025, the Spanish women’s national team begin their final pre-tournament preparation training camp ahead of the European Championships in Switzerland, a tournament that is to be held from 2 to 27 July. From tomorrow until 29 June, Montse Tomé and her squad will be based at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas to begin preparations for the continental competition.
At 19:30 this Thursday, the first group of the 23 players selected by the national coach to compete in the Alpine country are due to arrive. This group of players will begin closed-door training sessions at the Federation’s headquarters from Friday until Sunday, 22 June. On Sunday evening, again at 19:30, the Copa de la Reina champions, the FC Barcelona players, are scheduled to join the training camp. Then on Monday, 23 June, the squad will be completed with the arrival of Esther González, the Gotham FC player.
The Spanish national team are set to play a match at home soil to say farewell to fans before heading off to Switzerland. The clash is to take place on 27 June at 21:00 hours at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque (Leganés) against Japan. A top-level clash in which the Spain team hope to receive a warm send-off from the Spanish supporters and gather strength for the monumental continental challenge ahead.
The national team are to leave the Ciudad del Fútbol on 29 June with their bags full of the hopes and dreams of returning with a title that would complete a legendary honours list.
