As happened on 12 October in Seville, Luis de la Fuente once again gave three players their Spain debuts in the same match.

The national team managed to get an important away win against Cyprus and keep alive their aspirations to finish top of the group, furthermore, debutante Alejandro Grimaldo was able to play the entire match in Larnaca.

The 28-year-old Valencian made his debut at left-back for the full team, providing the assist for Mikel Oyarzabal's second goal.

Madrid's Rodrigo Riquelme came on in the first half to replace Oyarzabal, making his senior debut at the age of 23.

Alongside Grimaldo and Riquelme, Tarragona-born Aleix García also made his debut for Luis de la Fuente’ side, playing all the second half of the match.  

Born 26 years ago in the Catalan town of Ulldecona, Aleix has finally won a place in the Spanish national team´s midfield after  previously playing at youth level.

This brings to twelve the number of internationals Luis de la Fuente has given their debuts this year. Next Sunday in Valladolid, Álex Remiro from Navarra could become the first goalkeeper to do so in this international break.
