After announcing the names of the players who will represent Spain at the Olympic Games, Santi Denia wanted to evaluate the group and give his point of view on how he sees the team ahead of the sporting spectacle that will take place in Paris. The players and the coaching staff have been working at full intensity level since 1 July with their minds set on their first match against Uzbekistan.

The Olympic coach wanted to emphasise the importance of the group above all else: "For us it is very important that we can count on the 22 players who are part of this team, this family".

In the same vein, Santi Denia clarified that "the good news is that everyone will be in France and the coaches are delighted. It's true that we have to talk about 18+4, but there are other variables and other scenarios have opened up. That's why we have to be very grateful to the IOC and FIFA for giving options so that these four players can take part.

Finally, the Spanish coach analysed how the first few days of preparation at Ciudad del Fútbol are going: "They are working very well, with a lot of enthusiasm and desire. They want to experience the Games and they are showing it, working as a team, as a family, and we are delighted with them and their work".
