The Spanish Women's National Football Team will play its UEFA Women's Nations League qualifying match against Switzerland on September 26th at the Nuevo Arcángel stadium in Córdoba. This decision was made by the match venue assignment committee of the RFEF, which also indicated that the U-23 national team will play against France at Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas on September 25th.

The return of the Women's National Team to Córdoba, where they played a friendly match against Sweden on October 7th, 2022 (1-1), is made possible within the framework of the agreement between the RFEF and the Andalusian Regional Government. The regional government is once again collaborating with the RFEF and the Real Federación Andaluza de Fútbol in organizing a match, with the participation of the City Council of Córdoba as well.

The Spain-Switzerland match on September 26th will therefore take place at the Córdoba stadium, in an official "rematch" of the round of 16 from the last Women's World Cup, where Jorge Vilda's team has been performing brilliantly.

Return of the U-23 team

On the other hand, the U-23 National Team's match, led by Laura del Río, against France will take place on September 25th at Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas. This match marks the return to competition for this national team, created almost 4 years ago as a stepping stone to the senior national team.

This match against France, as well as the one that will be played 4 days earlier against Portugal in Portuguese territory, is part of a semi-official tournament among the eight main powers of European women's football. The tournament aims to give the U-23 national teams the prominence they deserve and eventually lead to official championships in that category.

The U-23 team had played its last match on April 6th in Sweden (1-2), and previously had participated in several friendly matches in England and the Netherlands.
