The Munich Football Arena, stage for the grand final
It has been 334 days since the Spanish National Team last set foot in the Munich Football Arena, which gave them fond memories. The 2-1 victory against France secured a place in the Berlin final, which ended with Spain winning their fourth European Championships. Now, 11 months later, at that same venue, yet another European title could be lifted into the night sky.
Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo were the scorers that night in five famous minutes (between the 21st and 25th) that turned the game around to reflect Luis de la Fuente’s team’s dominance on a historic evening.
With a capacity for 66,000 spectators, the Munich Football Arena also hosted the UEFA Champions League finals in 2012 and 2024, held four matches in UEFA EURO 2020 and six matches in UEFA EURO 2024, becoming the first stadium in history to host matches in two consecutive UEFA European Championships.
The home of FC Bayern Munich is a unique temple of football, a masterpiece of architecture and a symbol of the city that will be decked out for the grand final of the UEFA Nations League, in which Spain will seek to become the first country to win two titles in this competition and to do so consecutively.
