Farewell to February with the job done
The players called up by head coach Sonia Bermúdez for Matchdays 1 and 2 of Group A3 in the qualification campaign for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup trained on Pitch D this Saturday morning.
A bright, sunny start in Las Rozas greeted the squad as they stepped onto the grass, having already completed strength work in the gym. The final day of February featured a demanding and energetic session, fine-tuning physical, technical and tactical aspects — both with and without the ball.
Focus locked on Iceland and Ukraine
The group, sharp and fully focused, carried out the instructions of Bermúdez and her coaching staff with intensity and commitment, with their sights firmly set on the two upcoming opponents: Iceland and Ukraine.
Iceland will be the first test, on Tuesday 3 March at 19:00 at Castalia in Castellón. Securing the opening three points — and starting strongly on the road to defending their world title won in Australia and New Zealand in 2023 — begins in Castellón and continues in Turkey.
The squad know what is at stake, and they are working accordingly: diligently, intensely and with purpose.
