Clone of RFEF President inaugurates Casa España in Atlanta
Rafael Louzán, Ángeles Moreno Bau and Andre Dickens have officially opened Casa España in Atlanta, inviting supporters to enjoy a fan hub packed with attractions and open to all throughout the FIFA World Cup.
Visitors are welcomed by a striking mural celebrating some of the greatest moments in the history of the Spanish national team, created by urban artists Fabián Bravo (Artkat0) and Lalone Graff. The artwork serves as the centrepiece of Casa España, the meeting place for Spain’s supporters during the tournament.
Located in Atlanta’s South Downtown district, Casa España will serve as an exhibition venue, trophy showcase, fan zone and gathering place where supporters can watch matches on giant screens and enjoy a range of activities. On Monday morning, it will also become the starting point for fans making their way together to Atlanta Stadium for Spain’s opening World Cup match against Cape Verde national football team.
Ahead of kick-off, Louzán officially inaugurated the venue and expressed his gratitude “to everyone whose outstanding work has made it possible for us to enjoy this small piece of Spain in the city where our national team begins its World Cup journey.” He also highlighted the connection with Plaza Selección in Madrid’s Plaza de Colón, where thousands of supporters are expected to follow the match.
“During this World Cup we will travel across the United States and part of Mexico,” Louzán added. “We must take it one match at a time while enjoying places such as this, which are designed to bring people together.”
On behalf of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the president unveiled a commemorative plaque in recognition of Atlanta’s hospitality. Mayor Andre Dickens welcomed supporters and encouraged them to experience the city’s culture, noting that Atlanta was “very proud to host a legendary, successful and world champion team such as Spain.”
Spanish Ambassador Ángeles Moreno Bau described the national team as “Spain’s finest ambassador around the world,” adding that this was equally true in Atlanta, home to a significant Spanish community, including Ángel Cabrera, who attended the inauguration.
Casa España will accompany the Spanish national team throughout the tournament, establishing a presence in every host city where Spain plays. In Atlanta, it will also serve as the departure point for the official Fan Walk to the stadium, where Luis de la Fuente’s side will begin its quest for a long-awaited second FIFA World Cup title.
