Lamine Yamal: "It Will Be a Very Special Day"
On Luis de la Fuente's comments
"I'm not worried about goals, but it's always special to score in matches like these. I accept the challenge, and tomorrow will be a very special day."
On facing France
"We're the European champions and we're not afraid of any opponent or any match."
How is he approaching the semi-final?
"I'm very calm. I can't wait for tomorrow because it's going to be a fantastic match for the fans. It's one of the games everyone wanted to see at this World Cup. Both teams will have their moments, in attack and defence, but I'm sure it'll be a very evenly contested match."
Does he feel any pressure?
"I play the way I know how and give everything I have for the team. When you've given everything and know you've done what's been asked of you, there's no pressure."
On his popularity in the United States
"Football has given me the chance to be recognised in so many places, even in Chattanooga. It's something really special and I appreciate it a lot. I never imagined I'd be walking through a city in the United States and people would recognise me in the street. I know where I come from, and I'm proud of everything I'm achieving."
The biggest match of his career
"It's the biggest game of my career so far. We're all incredibly excited about it. I'd put it at the top of the list."
Can he picture himself as a world champion?
"Of course I can. It's difficult, just like every international title, but we're all visualising it, just as Spain did in 2010. So why not?"
The perfect birthday present?
"I'd give myself a win tomorrow and the chance to go to New York."
On his self-confidence
"There are far more difficult situations in life than a football match. I always remind myself to stay calm because, at the end of the day, it's only a game. When it's over, life goes on."
On the team's maturity
"We've grown so much since our opening match. Ever since the Euros, we've continued to develop as a team and as a family. I don't feel any pressure, but I'm certain tomorrow is going to be a very special day."
