Rafael Louzán Holds Institutional Meeting with President of the Egyptian Football Association
Both officials met in Barcelona ahead of the preparatory match between the Spain national football team and Egypt national football team at the RCDE Stadium.
The two national sides, each holding the most titles on their respective continents, came together on the RCDE Stadium pitch on Tuesday for the final preparatory fixture ahead of the upcoming international window, which will see both Spain and Egypt progress toward the World Cup finals.
Prior to the match, Rafael Louzán held an institutional meeting in Barcelona with his Egyptian counterpart, Hany Abo Rida, as well as the rest of the delegation from the North African nation, including their ambassador to Spain, Ehab Badawy.
Both presidents took part in the pre-match ceremonial exchange of gifts, which Louzán led from the VIP area of the RCDE Stadium.
As part of the ceremony, Rafael Louzán presented a commemorative plaque marking Spain’s 20th international match in Catalonia. Recipients included Carlos Prieto, Government Delegate in the autonomous community; Berni Álvarez, Minister of Sports of the Generalitat de Catalunya; David Escudé, President of the Àrea d’Esports i Activitat Física and Councillor for Sports of Barcelona City Council; Alba Bou, Mayor of El Prat de Llobregat; Conrad Felip Benlloch, Coordinator of the Àrea d’Esports i Activitat Física of the Diputació de Barcelona; Mao Ye, Vice President of RCDE Espanyol de Barcelona; the legendary Rafa Marañón, advisor to the Catalan club; and Joan Soteras, President of the Catalan Football Federation.
Twenty years after their last international encounter, Spain and Egypt faced off in the iconic RCDE Stadium, which filled its stands on Tuesday to support the Spain national football team, less than 80 days before their World Cup debut.
