The Spanish national team will take on Egypt on March 30 in an international friendly to be played in Qatar. The match will kick off at 18:00 (Spanish time) at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. It will take place three days after Spain face Argentina in the Finalissima, which will also be held in Qatar, at the Lusail Stadium.

The only previous meeting between the two national teams dates back to June 3, 2006, when they faced each other at the Martínez Valero Stadium in Elche. On that occasion, Spain secured a 2–0 victory thanks to goals from Raúl and Reyes.

The Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, which currently has a capacity of 45,000 spectators, takes its name from the term bayt al sha’ar, referring to the traditional tents historically used by nomadic peoples in Qatar and the wider Gulf region. The venue hosted up to seven matches during the most recent FIFA World Cup, including one Round of 16 fixture.
