Another date with destiny for Spain

The national team face France (at 19:00 on La 1 and RTVE Play) hoping to add another international title to their trophy cabinet.

90 minutes separate Spain from lifting another title six months after winning the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

As Jenni Hermoso said at the press conference, "we are making a lot of history in a short period of time. We have another opportunity to show that Spain is here to stay. The national team will take on France at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville with the motivation of winning the UEFA Women's Nations League title in front of their own fans and against an opponent they have never beaten at senior level (13 matches: three draws and 10 defeats).

However, if there is one thing this team knows how to do, it is to rise to the occasion and be strong in the face of adversity. Spain, who shone in last Friday's semi-final, beating the Netherlands 3-0 - with goals from Jenni Hermoso, Aitana Bonmatí and Ona Batlle - will face a French side who also put on a strong showing against Germany, defeating them by two goals to one - with goals from Diani and Karchaoui for France and Gwinn for the Germans

After qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the national team's challenge now is to win the Nations League crown: "Being at the Olympics was a goal and a dream for all of us. Now we are focused on this final and we want to win it," said Montse Tomé on the eve of the match.

La Cartuja, Seville and all the Spanish fans will once again play a fundamental role in this match. After the historic record in the semi-final, when 21,856 spectators watched Spain's triumph, today could be a repeat of this historic figure, coinciding with Andalusia Day in the city of Seville.

In addition, the match will be very special for many reasons, including the fact that the international Virginia Torrecilla will be the team’s ambassador for the UWNL final.

Spain face another date with destiny and are 90 minutes away from making history once again.
