First training session in Vigo
After Friday´s hard-fought 2–4 victory over Portugal at the Capital do Móvel, the national team was back to work this afternoon, already focused on the second match between the two sides, set for Tuesday 8 April at 19:00 CET (La 2, TVE) at Balaídos.
Portugal demanded a significant physical effort from Spain, and in today’s training session, the starting players followed a recovery and compensation routine, while the non-starters took part in an activation session. The session took place at Celta de Vigo’s Ciudad Deportiva Afouteza, under a sky that allowed a few sunbeams to break through the clouds.
The session was also watched live by Celta de Vigo’s youth girls’ teams, who followed the training from the upper terrace of the Afouteza complex, enjoying the chance to see Montse Tomé’s squad in action.
The national team, who travelled to Vigo by coach after yesterday’s match, has now officially begun preparations for the next crucial fixture, with another three points on the line in Matchday 4 of the UEFA Women’s Nations League qualifying stage.
