Institutional representatives all over Spain live the FIFA Congress at the RFEF headquarters.
An event organised by the Royal Spanish Football Federation brought together part of all the public and private entities that have helped to turn the dream of the 2030 World Cup into a reality.
Numerous institutional officials from public and private organisations and entities from all over Spain gathered this Wednesday at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), to follow the FIFA Extraordinary Congress live and celebrate together what is a great achievement for our country as a whole.
Among the authorities present were Pilar Alegría, Minister of Education, and Ángel Víctor Torres, Minister of Territorial Policy, representing the Spanish Government. Also present was María Rivas, sub-delegate of the Galician Government in A Coruña.
On behalf of the regional institutions, among others, Jorge Antonio Azcón, President of the Government of Aragón; Ángel Luis Sabroso, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands; Mariano de Paco Serrano, Minister of Sports of the Community of Madrid; and José María Arrabal, Secretary of Sports of the Regional Government of Andalusia, attended the event.
The different local authorities involved in the candidature were also represented. Among others, Borja Vivas, sports councillor of Málaga City Council; Silvia Pozo, sports delegate of Seville City Council; Natalia Chueca, mayoress of Zaragoza; Clara Campoamor, sports councillor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, came to Las Rozas; Antonio Morales, President of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria; David Escudé, Sports Councillor of the Barcelona City Council; Gregorio Ramírez, General Director of Sports of the Madrid City Council; and Marta Pastor, Sports Director of the Provincial Council of Guipúzcoa.
Also in attendance were the members of the current RFEF Management Committee and the presidents of more than a dozen regional and territorial federations.
The proclamation by acclamation vote of the YallaVamos2030 candidacy was celebrated with joy and satisfaction in the Luis Aragonés assembly hall at the Ciudad del Fútbol, the venue chosen by the RFEF for the event, which allowed this historic moment to be enjoyed live in connection with Zurich and the whole world.
The connection between the three countries that have collaborated in this joint bid has been special: what was happening in the Luis Aragonés was followed instantly both from Rabat, the place chosen by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for its counterpart event, and from Lisbon, where the Portuguese Football Federation was experiencing its own celebrations.
Different representatives of the Organising Committee were spread throughout these three venues, as a sign and symbol of the closeness and unity between the countries that will host the 2030 World Cup. At the event held in Las Rozas, Otmane El Manser represented the business unit designated by Morocco within the bid, while Daniel Ribeiro acted as representative of the Portuguese Football Federation.
