Mikel and Nico join up

With the arrival of the Real Sociedad and Athletic Club players, there are now 25 players working at the Ciudad del Fútbol under the orders of Luis de la Fuente.

This Sunday saw the Spanish footballing family growing at Las Rozas with the arrival of international players Mikel Merino and Nico Williams, who were absent at the start of the training camp due to family commitments.

Both players from Basque Country arrived at the Ciudad del Fútbol in the early afternoon, and were greeted by coach Luis de la Fuente, who had already received 25 of the 29 players called up to the provisional Spain squad for preparation for Euro 2024.

The national team is scheduled to train on Sunday afternoon in Las Rozas in what will be its first session since the open-door training session that got the work started on Saturday.

In the coming days, central defender Aymeric Laporte will join the squad, as will Real Madrid players Nacho Fernández, Dani Carvajal and Joselu Mato, who have just won the latest edition of the UEFA Champions League with their club.
