Ahead of tomorrow’s crucial clash against England, Montse Tomé reflected on the difficulty of the opponent without giving away hints about the team that will take to the pitch at the RCDE Stadium: "We’re not going to reveal the line-up to avoid giving away too much. Even here in the press conference we’re already competing. We’ll put out the most competitive eleven we can. We have a fantastic number of players who give us many options. The players who come on later on, as we saw in Belgium, are capable of offering different options to the team too."

The coach is focused only on getting the win and reaching the final stage: "In my mind, it’s all about how we’ll start tomorrow against a demanding opponent of the very highest level. Everyone will arrive in good shape, with all the players fully recovered. What I think as a coach and what we think as a staff is to compete in order to win the match." And about achieving objectives, first beating Belgium and now going for the final stage without thinking about the Euros yet: "We’ve focused on the objectives for this window. The team’s mind is set on that; the rest comes afterwards. It’s a very beautiful prospect to play in a match like this, and the players are very eager for the game to start. It will be a great challenge and an opportunity to see the best players in the world in Barcelona."

The team has learned and grown a lot since the defeat against England at Wembley: "In that match we didn’t deserve to lose. At the very least, it should have been a draw based on the chances we created. We pinned England back at Wembley, played with a midfield that had never played together before, and the team performed at a very high level in a great venue and a great setting. From that match we took away some details, we’ve talked about it, and we know what we need to improve to compete in tomorrow’s game. Spain will go out to compete for the ball. We’ll try to keep the ball and maintain possession, and be very competitive. I see the team in a good place and we’re very focused."

Montse has full confidence in the physical and mental state of her team: "I see them as being in a great place. I see a competitive group, a united team. Based on everything achieved over the year, the last window was very good regardless of the volume of matches, and now as well. We have a group of professionals helping the players recover. They’re super professional and I see them doing very well, eager to compete tomorrow."

She also had words for Mariona Caldentey, Champions League winner: "I think everyone has seen that Mariona has been key to Arsenal’s performance all season. We’ve followed that league closely because of the players we have there. She’s adapted really well and we’ve been able to see other abilities and resources from her in different positions. Mariona has been Arsenal’s best player. We know about her intelligence in terms of play and her versatility, even if she prefers one position over another. She’s super professional and does what the team needs."
