Rafael Louzán joins José Juan Arencibia at the Cabildo de Gran Canaria’s recognition of his work in the Inter-Island Federation

The President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has visited the island of Gran Canaria to celebrate the awarding of the “Roque Nublo” Prize in the Sports category to the President of the FIFLP and the Canarian Football Federation.

The RFEF President, Rafael Louzán, attended a special event of recognition with the President of the FIFLP and the Canarian Football Federation. As part of its 112th anniversary celebrations, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria awarded José Juan Arencibia the Roque Nublo Prize in the Sports category at a ceremony held at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas.

The Cabildo de Gran Canaria presented the Roque Nublo Deportivo award to José Juan Arencibia in recognition of his enduring commitment to sport and his outstanding leadership. He has played a key role in developing grassroots football in Gran Canaria, using the sport to promote values such as teamwork, discipline, respect, and solidarity. His efforts have also helped position Gran Canaria and the Canary Islands on the international sporting map, particularly through his dedication and involvement in securing Gran Canaria as a host city for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Alongside President Louzán and José Juan Arencibia, the entire FIFLP board was present at the ceremony, as well as Sergio Merchán, President of the Extremaduran Football Federation and Vice President of the RFEF, and Manuel Torralba, President of the Royal Aragonese Football Federation.
