Riyadh University hosts RFEF training course for female coaches and players from Arabia

Training for more than one hundred female coaches from Saudi Arabia has culminated in the country's capital, after meetings with the national team players and staff as well as workshops at the Jeddah campuses. The Spanish manager, Montse Tomé, led the sessions, which also included coaches from the RFEF and motivational talks, such as the one given by Olympic champion Thais Hernández.

The RFEF has completed the various training sessions it is carrying out in Saudi Arabia coinciding with the Spanish Super Cup. These training sessions are part of the campaign “El fútbol es el camino/Football is the way. #Fútbol está llegando/Fútbol is coming", promoted by the Department of Equality and Sustainability.

After the meeting that took place in Jeddah with the Saudi senior national team and the visit and training sessions on the campuses, this Friday it was the turn of University of Riyadh to play host to the training sessions. On site, the coaches received details about women's football in Spain, a model that has made our national team world champions. Furthermore, they received motivational talks by Thais Henríquez; and development workshops and on pitch training sessions, all of which also run by the RFEF Coaching School.

Montse Tomé shared a few words to sum up her time in Saudi Arabia: "We have been able to offer them what we do in Spain, so now they have it as a model to follow, they are very participative, eager and interested, which speaks volumes," said Montse Tomé. "This is going to make women's football more visible," she concluded.
