Almost three months and having played another four matches, Spain remain at the top of the FIFA World Rankings. They have topped the rankings since December 2023 thanks to winning the World Cup, maintaining their position in March 2024 after lifting the UEFA Women's Nations League trophy.
This time, not only have they maintained their position at the top of the ranking, but they have also achieved their best ever score (2,099.89 points), distancing themselves from their nearest rival, which in this case is France, having regained the position they lost to England in the previous rankings. This improvement in the score is due to the fact that all four of the matches Montse Tomé's team have played recently have ended in resounding victories, sealing qualification for next year's European Championships along the way. Further proof that Spain is the benchmark when it comes to international women’s football.
