A commanding 7-1 victory over Portugal, combined with England’s 3-2 defeat to Belgium, sees Montse Tomé’s side return to the top of Group A3.
Four of the six group fixtures have now been played, with Spain recording three wins and one defeat. Their 9 points put them two ahead of England.
