In line with recent meetings aimed at progressing the sport through dialogue, Rafael Louzán met this Tuesday in Las Rozas with representatives of the clubs from the 1st Division Fútbol Sala Iberdrola, the top-tier women's futsal league in Spain.

The meeting served to present various proposals for improvement in a discipline in which Spain is the reigning European champions and will participate at the end of this year in the first edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup in the Philippines.

The national team coach, Clàudia Pons, also contributed her insights during a meeting that covered a range of topics regarding the development, growth, visibility, promotion, and increased funding for the top women’s division as well as other national competitions.

Among the proposals put forward by the RFEF is the introduction of video refereeing, both in the final phase of the Copa de SM la Reina—scheduled for early next month in Cartagena—and in the final round for the title in the 1st Division of Fútbol Sala Iberdrola.

In addition, the governing body will begin implementing financial control methods, alongside the launch of an ambitious strategic plan and the creation of both a working committee and a refereeing committee focused on the top level of women’s futsal.

These meetings will continue in the coming months with club representatives, within the current climate of dialogue, unity, and the pursuit of consensus among all stakeholders in Spanish football, something always promoted under the leadership of the RFEF presidency.
