One of the most emotional moments of the day took place in the “Palco 0”, a special box reserved for shellfish gatherers (mariscadoras). The women featured in the pre-match campaign video attended alongside their fellow workers, receiving well-deserved recognition for their contribution, and highlighting the importance of a profession that is a vital part of Galicia’s social and economic fabric.

Earlier in the day, the team also took part in a deeply meaningful visit to the A Lama Penitentiary Centre, where they met with a group of female inmates in a safe and intimate setting for dialogue, motivation, and shared sport. This marked the first time such an initiative had been carried out exclusively with women, setting a hugely positive precedent.

In the hours leading up to kick-off, volunteers from the Integra Centre took centre stage, participating in the opening moments of the match as central banner bearers—shining a light on the value of functional diversity in top-level sporting events.

Additionally, the entire match was broadcast with special live commentary adapted for blind and visually impaired fans, ensuring accessibility and making the beautiful game truly open to all.

These initiatives underscore a vital truth: football is more than just a sport—it is a powerful tool for social transformation.
