The Spanish internationals called up by Montse Tomé who did not play in the Copa de La Reina Iberdrola, or Esther González, were the first to arrive at La Ciudad del Fútbol Residence, marking the official kick-off to the TRAINING CAMP (in capital letters) as it is the one that will prepare Spain to compete in the EUROS in Switzerland from the 2nd to the 27th of July and have the chance to fulfil a another dream.

Twelve of the twenty-three players are already in what will be their home until they leave for Swiss soil on the 29th of June. Those who played the final domestic match of the season on the 7th of June – the Cup Final – will join their teammates this Sunday, the 22nd, along with Esther González, who played her final match with her club, Gotham FC, on the 14th of June, scoring a brace.

Smiling, full of excitement, and with an extra boost of motivation, the players arrived in Las Rozas with joy clearly visible on their faces. With good vibes in the squad after securing qualification for the Final Phase of the UEFA Women’s Nations League – where they will defend their title starting in October – the players are now heading towards this year’s major challenge: to fight for success in the showpiece continental tournament, a trophy they have yet to lift and want to add to their World Cup and Nations titles.

Come watch Spain v Japan in Leganés and give the players a massive send-off before they head to the EUROS!

They know they have a major challenge ahead in Switzerland, with a group stage that will see them face Portugal, Belgium and Italy. But before travelling to Lausanne, where the team will be based for the EUROS, Montse Tomé’s squad are set to play their final match in Spain – a friendly against Japan in Leganés. The Butarque stadium will host the match on the 27th of June at 21:00, the perfect chance to give the squad a positive send off and cheer them on before they head to Switzerland.

Montse Tomé and her coaching staff personally welcomed each of the players upon arrival at the residence. Ahead lie days of intense work and dedicated preparation before the European dream gets underway.
