A Sunday of hard work at Las Rozas
The third day of the training camp started very early once again for the National Team. With the arrival of summer and the high temperatures hitting Madrid these days, the squad got up early to complete another training session first thing this Sunday morning as they continue their preparations for the Euros.
Montse Tomé led the training session which, once again, was long, intense and comprehensive, with an in-depth focus on technical and physical aspects, starting with exercise drills without the ball and then moving on to work with it. During the nearly two-hour session, the players were very attentive, focused, motivated and committed to the task, fully aware of the wonderful challenge ahead of them and the opportunity to achieve a dream.
After training, the players had a few hours to rest before the arrival, at 19:30h, of the FC Barcelona players. The recent winners of the Copa de La Reina Iberdrola, who are scheduled to join the training camp this evening and reunite with their teammates.
With tomorrow’s arrival of Esther González, the entire squad will begin preparing together for the European Championships in Switzerland, which kicks off for Spain on 3 July against Portugal (21h, RTVE) in the first match of Group B. The tournament, taking place from 2 to 27 July, is the main motivation for Spain, who will also face Japan in a pre-tournament friendly match at the Butarque stadium on Friday 27 June before travelling to Switzerland.
