After the arrival of the FC Barcelona players yesterday, the head coach was able to count on 22 players in the first session of the day in what is busy week that lies ahead for the national team, and with that intensity is exactly how today begun.

Under Montse Tomé’s orders, the group – almost complete, with only Esther González yet to join – trained on Pitch A at the Ciudad del Fútbol. The Gotham FC striker arrived at the Las Rozas residence this very morning while, simultaneously, her teammates were under the orders of the head coach and her coaching staff.

The session, once again marked by high temperatures, was, like in previous days, intense, thorough and long, in order to work diligently and paying great attention to physical, technical and tactical aspects. The internationals trained at two different paces to accommodate those who had just joined and those who were completing their fourth day of training today.

This afternoon the gym and doing strength work will take centre stage. A double session in order to reach peak form ahead of the Euros in Switzerland, which for the national team begins on 3 July at 9pm against Portugal. The tournament, taking place from 2 to 27 July, is the target firmly in the sights of a team full of ambition and determined to add another title to their World Cup and UEFA Women’s Nations League trophies. Before travelling to Switzerland on Sunday 29, Spain face Japan in a friendly in Leganés.

The match is being played on Friday 27 at 9pm (RTVE) and will be Montse Tomé’s side’s final match on Spanish soil before setting off in pursuit of their European dream.
