Welcoming the family home, the EUROS await!

The squad group grows with the second wave of arrivals at the training camp in Las Rozas.

And now 22 of the 23 internationals are currently at the training camp in the Ciudad del Fútbol following the arrival on Sunday afternoon of the FC Barcelona players, who played in the final of the Copa de La Reina Iberdrola on 7 June. Only Esther González is yet to join, after playing her last match with Gotham FC on 14 June, a match in which she scored twice. She is to join the group tomorrow to complete the squad.

Irene, Alexia, Aitana, Pina, Patri, Cata, Ona, Jana, Vicky and Salma arrived with their suitcases full of dreams and faces covered in smiles and full of hope as they join their teammates at the squad’s basecamp and start building towards and pursuing their next challenge. They arrived almost all at once, excited and happy in their arrival, after lifting the Cup against Atlético de Madrid and having had time to savour the victory and unwind too.

They face some exciting days ahead, full of hard work, effort, determination and motivation. Spain take on Japan in a friendly to be held at 9pm on Friday 27 June in Leganés before travelling to Switzerland in a week’s time, next Sunday the 29th.

Today, we saw the full welcome by Montse Tomé, her coaching staff, and teammates already at Las Rozas since last Thursday. With EUROS mode activated, training resumes tomorrow!
