The landmark location in the urban geography of Seville, such as the Plaza de la Encarnación and its famous Setas, served as a symbol of sportsmanship and fair play this Friday on the eve of the grand final of the Copa del Rey Mapfre.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation set up their Fair Play Area in this picturesque setting so that supporters of both teams can enjoy an inclusive space for seeking information and collecting mementos of the cup final during their stay in the Andalusian capital.

As such, the president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, and the mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, wished to share a few moments with fans of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, as well as with Red Cross volunteers, to exchange views and promote the values fair play before, during, and after the match, which will be followed by tens of millions of people around the world this Saturday.

Rafael Louzán thanked the officials of the Seville City Council, the Junta de Andalucía, and the Seville Provincial Council "for their enormous commitment in organising a match of this stature, the sort of which many cities around the world would love to host. We look forward to what is to come, which will be a great celebration of football in a renovated stadium such as La Cartuja, where fair play must prevail above all else."

Following this, the president of the RFEF presented a replica of the cup trophy and a personalised Spanish national team shirt to the mayor of Seville, who expressed his gratitude by inviting all the supporters who have travelled to the Andalusian capital "to enjoy a unique match in a unique city to the world."

The presence of the young María and Rafa dressed in the colours of the two finalists and the popular performance by freestyler Pulga FS added a festive touch to a Fair Play Area that will be open to all visitors to the Plaza de la Encarnación in Seville this Friday until nine in the evening and on Saturday until a couple of hours before the match takes place.
