The president of the RFEF presents the trophy to the champions of the Copa de la Reina Iberdrola
Rafael Louzán and the President of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, presented the award to FC Barcelona captain Alexia Putellas
Two goals from Spanish international Claudia Pina at El Alcoraz were enough to see FC Barcelona retain their Copa de la Reina Iberdrola trophy against Club Atlético de Madrid.
The celebrations for the Catalan fans at the Huesca stadium reached their climax with the presentation of the champions’ trophy, which the president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, carried out alongside the President of Aragón, Jorge Azcón.
Barça captain and World Cup winner with Spain, Alexia Putellas, had the honour of collecting the club’s eleventh trophy in the competition, further extending their lead at the top of the honours list.
The final was attended live, among other dignitaries, by the Spanish Government’s Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo; the Mayor of Huesca, Lorena Orduna; and the President of the Royal Aragonese Football Federation, Manuel Torralba, as well as representatives form the two finalists, Barça president Joan Laporta and Atlético de Madrid’s general manager Dolores Romero.
The first final held in the capital of Huesca proved to be a major organisational success, with a full house in the stands and a vibrant atmosphere throughout the city — a symbol of the unstoppable growth of women’s football in Spain, where only a few days ago we celebrated the Spanish national team’s qualification for the UEFA Women’s Nations League finals
