Received by the mayor of Alcácer, Alberto Miguel Primo Llácer, the president of the RFEF took the opportunity in the hours before the international match between the Spain and Belgium women's national teams to reaffirm his commitment to the reconstruction of the areas most affected by the storms and subsequent floods that hit the Levante region particularly hard last year.

As such, Rafael Louzán signed the town’s book of honour on Friday before visiting the facilities at Camp del Pla, which have served in recent months as a training ground for several local teams that have been displaced due to the floods. The local council plans to build a modern stadium at the site.

The RFEF president expressed his gratitude for the initiative and reiterated that “we must be stand very close to these towns and show solidarity with the areas most affected by the floods through events such as today’s match between the Spanish national team and Belgium at the Ciutat de València stadium, or the one the men’s national team will play in a few weeks at Mestalla. We need to offer quick and effective solutions for such an important area of Spain as is the Valencian Community."

The vice president of the RFEF, Sergio Merchán, and the general secretary of the organisation, Álvaro de Miguel, were also present at this meeting, along with the president of the Football Federation of the Valencian Community, Salvador Gomar, who hosted Rafael Louzán’s visit to the federation’s headquarters in the city of Valencia.

A formal lunch attended by part of the board of directors and a representation of local clubs brought the RFEF president’s Friday morning agenda to a close. This event will be followed by his attendance at the Ciutat de València stadium for the first match of the year for the Spanish national team as part of the UEFA Women’s Nations League group stage. The match will be held as a tribute to those affected by the floods under the slogan Jugamos por vosotr@s ("We Play For You"), which the players will wear on T-shirt during the pre-match warm-up ahead of the match against Belgium.
