The RFEF President shares in the joy of Spain’s qualification for the UEFA Women’s Nations League finals

The city that first witnessed the National Team’s first goal 41 years ago was the scene of a memorable triumph by the home side against England, propelling Montse Tomé’s team into the final stage of the Women’s Nations League.

Among the thousands of Spanish supporters gathered at the RCDE Stadium, the president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, shared in the joy of the comeback victory against the English, thanks to two goals scored by Claudia Pina in the second half of the match.

Earlier, Louzán presided over the official event held at the RCD Español stadium, which was attended by the president of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, the Sports Councillor of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Berni Álvarez, the Mayor of Cornellá de Llobregat, Antonio Balmón, the UEFA delegate, Barbara Moschini, the CEO of RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, Mao Ye, its board member and former international Rafael Marañón, the president of the club’s Foundation, Antoni Teixidó, as well as the representative of the Catalan Football Federation, Montserrat Altimira, and of the English FA, James Gray.

At the end of the match, the RFEF president personally congratulated all the players and the national coach for their success, which saw Spain go on to defend their current Nations League title from October.
