Claudia Pina: "I encourage the fans to come to Balaídos"

The forward highlighted the importance of tomorrow’s match against Portugal to keep Spain’s hopes alive in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

Claudia Pina appeared in the press room at Balaídos ahead of tomorrow’s fixture between Spain and Portugal, corresponding to Matchday 4 of the UEFA Women’s Nations League group stage.

The striker underlined the importance of securing three points tomorrow and spoke about her current form: "I’m in a good moment and happy to be here with the best players. We’re really looking forward to the match against Portugal and we’ll do our best to win again to keep our chances alive in this group stage."

Just three days ago, the two sides faced each other, with Montse Tomé’s team netting four goals against a tough, organised opponent who will surely make things difficult again tomorrow: "It’ll be a top-level match, just like the one in Portugal."

Pina, who has scored four goals in her last five matches for Spain, spoke about the confidence she feels both at her club and with the national team: "Being consistently on the pitch makes me feel 100% and gives me the determination I need."

The Catalan forward also expressed her gratitude to the province of Pontevedra and the city of Vigo for their support: "Since we arrived, we’ve been treated incredibly well. The facilities are amazing and it’ll be really special to train and play at Balaídos. I encourage the fans to come and support us – their energy will help us get the win."
