Real Madrid secure safe passage to the Last 16
The Madrid side won 5-0 with goals from Fede Valverde, Camavinga, Arda Güler (2) and Luka Modrić.
Club Deportiva Minera and Real Madrid CF went into the Epiphany with one wish only: a place in the Last 16. The Cartagonova was decked out for the occasion. However, it didn't take long for the goals to arrive from the glamorous guests on the night. Just five minutes after the starting whistle, Fede Valverde opened the scoring with a powerful strike. Camavinga, with a header, extended the lead for the madridistas. Omar, with a shot from almost midfield almost managed to surprise Lunin to reduce the deficit. However, the shot went just wide of the right-hand post. Just before the break, Arda Güler made it 3-0 with a shot that skimmed off a defender and into the back of the net.

In the second half, Real continued their goal feast. A great combination between Brahim and Modrić led to a fourth goal for Madrid. In the final stretch of the match, Mbappé broke away at speed to combine with Fran García who put in a great cross. Arda Güler found himself in the six-yard box to grab his brace. With the 0-5 scoreline, the match ended, sealing the team from the capital’s place in the Last 16.
Tomorrow at 21:00 the last game of the Round of 32 is set to take place. CD Eldense face Valencia CF for the last ticket through to the next round of the Copa del Rey.
