The president of the RFEF thanks the National Police for their work at the Copa final
Rafael Louzán observed the deployment for the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, greeting the officers at La Cartuja stadium: "You can be very proud of your work," he told them
On the morning prior to the grand final of the Mapfre Copa del Rey, the president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, wanted to share his gratitude with the men and women who will ensure the safety of the fans during the match, before whom he stated that "we must give thanks and highlight the extraordinary work of the State law enforcement agencies. Normally, nothing ever happens at a sporting event of this nature, but for nothing to happen there are 1,400 people from the National Police and 800 more private security professionals working so that we can all enjoy this spectacle. For this reason, from the RFEF our words can only be those of sincere and profound gratitude. You can be very proud of your work."
Early this Saturday, Rafael Louzán was received at La Cartuja stadium in Seville by the Deputy Operational Director (DAO) of the National Police, José Ángel González, the Commissioner General of Citizen Security, Juan Carlos Castro, the Chief of Police in Western Andalusia, Andrés Martín, as well as the Head of the Police Intervention Unit (UIP), Javier Orcaray.

Alongside them, a display of vehicles and units, together with a representation of the officers who will be working during the final, whom the president of the RFEF greeted individually, thanking them for their work during the build up to the final and on the big day and presenting a commemorative plaque to the head of the police operation.
José Ángel González, DAO of the National Police, expressed his gratitude for these gestures, recalling that "in this type of event Spain is a world leader and much of the success lies in the work of units operating in the shadows such as the judicial or intelligence units, as well as the fact that relations with the RFEF are as good as can be."
More than 1,400 officers are collaborating in the National Police Corps' operation for the 123rd final of the Copa del Rey, which includes the presence of specialised units (UIP, UPR, canine guides, cavalry section, mobile brigade and underground unit) and support from the Special Operations Group and the Air Unit.
In addition, dozens of land support vehicles such as BMRs, Uros or vans are added to the service provided by helicopters, drones and anti-drone systems.
All this so that security is guaranteed after more than three months of preparation with the establishment of three security rings around the stadium, the implementation of measures to stagger the arrival of the fans, and the ongoing updating of information for fans through channels such as @policia, the official account of the National Police Corps on the social network X.
