Full Spain squad continue preparations for the EUROS
Montse Tomé now has all her squad at her disposal and ready to represent Spain at the Euros in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July.
The last to join the training camp was Esther González, who played her final match with her club, Gotham FC, last Saturday, scoring the first goal of the match too. The forward arrived yesterday and today joined the rest of the group. On this fifth day of the camp, the head coach and her coaching staff led a full and intense session. With the heat ever-present, the internationals once again trained early in the day to avoid even higher temperatures.
All 23 players completed the session on Pitch A at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas.
The group, all highly focused and with a clear objective in mind, are preparing thoroughly with long training sessions to work on all aspects of the game — from physical to tactical, including technical and mental in what are complete preparations, tailored down to the very last detail for each and every player.
Over the course of these training days, the team is aiming to reach its best form ahead of the start of the competition. The national team play their opening match on 3 July, against Portugal, at 21:00 in Bern (RTVE). On that day, the team will embark on their quest to make their next dream come true. The dream is, of course, to win the EUROS and add the trophy to the World Cup and UEFA Women’s Nations League ones they already have.
Before departing for Switzerland to pursue their dream and take on the thrilling challenge of winning the continental tournament for the first time, Montse Tomé’s side are scheduled to play a friendly against Japan on Friday 27, at 21:00, in Leganés.
