The Spanish national team held its first training session on foreign soil on Monday at what will become their usual training ground over the European Championships in Germany.

The Der Öschberghof facilities will host the Spanish stars for the duration ofthe tournament and provide everything the squad needs, from training facilities to leisure activities.

Captain Álvaro Morata presented a commemorative shirt to the international midfielder during the flight to Germany.

Dozens of young local fans dressed in the red of the Spanish national team gave the squad a warm welcome.

The Spain squad are on their way to the European Championships in Germany this Sunday and will settle into their base camp upon arrival.

The midfielder, who has been out of the Spain shirt for more than a year, celebrated his first goals as an international in Palma.

Morata's goal in Palma brings him level with David Silva and puts him just three goals behind Fernando Torres.

The national coach pointed out that the objectives the squad had have been achieved and they’re going into the European Championships ‘with optimism, but with humility’.
