PRE-MATCH | The ball will crown its King this Saturday

Real Madrid CF and CA Osasuna play an exciting Copa final at the La Cartuja stadium in Seville.

115 matches and 325 goals later, the time has come to enjoy the outcome of the best competition in football.

The Campeonato de España-Copa de SM el Rey will live a final party this Saturday at La Cartuja in Seville (10:00 p.m. Spanish peninsular time, live on La1 and #Vamos, with minute-by-minute coverage by this official media) with Real Madrid and CA Osasuna as the main players.

Mostly, but not exclusively, because the spectacle prepared in the capital of Seville will ensure that this Saturday, May 6, 2023, will remain in the memory of tens of thousands of fans, with His Majesty at the head, who will enjoy a historic day of football coronation.

Fan zones, concerts by big-name singers, sustainability activities, cameras even on the corner flags and some undisclosed surprises will enhance everything that happens on the pitch in the unprecedented final between the merengues and the rojillos.

Real Madrid, who face their 40th final in their quest for their 20th Copa title, would seem to be the favorites against CA Osasuna (second final in their centenary history), whom they have always beaten in their eight previous encounters in the tournament.

Seville's La Cartuja stadium will host for the fourth consecutive time the true celebration of Spanish football.

But a final is always unpredictable and even more so after the superhuman resistance shown this season by Jagoba Arrasate's men, who have just emerged triumphant from four knockout rounds including extra time, one of which was even settled on penalties against reigning champions Real Betis.

The Navarrese will be without full-back Nacho Vidal and Serbian midfielder Darko Brasanac in Seville, while Real Madrid will be without Ferland Mendy, in addition to the almost certain absence of Croatian Luka Modric.

The duel will be officiated by referee José María Sánchez Martínez from Lorca, with Santiago Jaime Latre from Huesca as VAR and the semi-automatic offside detection technology as a great support in favor of good play.

All this on a day when the renewed Amberes ball, symbol of the union of all Spanish football and its competitions around the ball, will roll with more than 180 countries waiting to know who are the champions in a final that, even before starting, already represents a shared triumph in this Copa de Todos.
